ClockIn Safety

A job should never cost your safety.

ClockIn reviews consumer employers before their jobs go live, filters clearly prohibited content, and gives every signed-in student report and block controls on each job.

Report or block in the app

Open a job, then choose Report for a scam, unsafe duties, harassment, sexual content, or inappropriate contact. Choose Block employer to remove that employer's jobs from your search immediately. Reports go to the ClockIn operator queue; blocking does not notify the employer.

For an urgent danger, call 911 or a trusted adult first. You can also email security@commparths.com.

Stop if an employer asks you to…

  • pay an application fee, buy gift cards, deposit a check, wire money, or use cryptocurrency;
  • share a password, one-time code, Social Security number, bank login, or intimate photo before a verified hiring process requires lawful paperwork;
  • meet alone at a private home, hotel, or changing location unrelated to the business;
  • hide the job, schedule, duties, or communications from a parent, guardian, school, or another trusted adult;
  • do work that conflicts with the posting, feels sexual, discriminatory, threatening, or unsafe.

Ohio youth-work basics

  • A minor of compulsory-school age generally needs an age and schooling certificate before employment. Ohio has a summer exception for some 16- and 17-year-olds with proof of age and parent or guardian consent.
  • Workers under 16 generally cannot work during school hours, before 7 a.m., or beyond Ohio's evening limits; school-day and school-week hour limits also apply.
  • Ohio requires a 30-minute rest period after no more than five consecutive hours for any minor.
  • Federal and Ohio rules prohibit hazardous duties for workers under 18, and add more occupation limits for 14- and 15-year-olds. When rules differ, employers must follow the more protective rule.

What ClockIn review means

Review reduces risk; it is not a guarantee. Employers remain responsible for lawful duties, permits, wages, schedules, supervision, and workplace safety. Students and families should independently verify the employer, workplace, supervisor, and written offer.
